With two-stage twist barrel with gold fore-sight, chiselled girdle, gold signature, two gold lines, and gold-lined touch-hole (some surface pitting at the breech), engraved grooved tang, signed case-hardened flat bevelled lock engraved with game birds and with stepped tail, raised gold-lined pan, roller, and blued steel-spring, the interior with pierced bridle and original blued finish on the working parts, finely figured walnut half-stock, the grip and fore-end (minor chips from the latter) with characteristic chequering, finely engraved blued iron mounts retaining some of their original blued finish and including trigger-guard in the French taste, gold escutcheon engraved with owner's monogram, and iron-tipped ramrod with worm, London proof marks
