A 22-Bore Early D.B. Flintlock Sporting Gun

With browned French barrels by a member of the Leclerc family of Paris, fitted with top rib only, silver fore-sight, and gold-lined touch-holes, finely engraved grooved tang, large flat locks each with roller (a working modification), moulded border, grooved steel in the Spanish manner, stepped steel, gold-lined pan (gold incomplete), intercepting sear, and second form of signature, single lock retaining screw (replaced, front screw attachment adapted to hooks), figured walnut half-stock without butt-plate (cracks, chips, and bruises) carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang and with contemporary repair behind the grip, leather-covered cheek-pad, finely engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard in the French style with second pattern acorn finial, and horn-tipped ramrod with worm (some wear, and areas of surface pitting)
