With rebrowned twist barrels (some surface pitting, mainly at the breeches) inscribed on the rib 'London. Gun-Makers to his Majesty', and with silver fore-sight, patent breeches each with crowned platinum-lined maker's stamp 'Mortimer/Fleet-St', platinum line, and platinum-lined touch-hole, finely engraved grooved tang, signed engraved serial numbered flat locks each with roller, platinum-lined rainproof pan (linings damaged), and 'French' cock (the right cock expertly replaced), the steel-springs each adjustable for tension (steels refaced), figured walnut half-stock (minor bruises), chequered grip, raised cheek-piece, finely engraved iron mounts including scroll trigger-guard decorated with water-fowl and a pointer, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon, and brass-mounted ramrod, probably original (iron parts with scattered wear and rust-staining), London proof marks, barrel-forger's mark H.M crowned
