With blued swamped octagonal sighted barrel cut with seven grooves, the top of the breech with a mark, a bird in a rectangle (Neue Støckel 7009), and the rear with two engraved bands, plain tang, rounded border engraved lock retained by three side-nails and signed 'Albrecht a Darmstat (sic)' within a chiselled cartouche, domed integral wheel-cover, chiselled blued cock and spring, and blued pan, pan-cover, and release button, moulded figured walnut full stock carved in relief with foliage, iron mounts including elaborate pierced and chiselled side-plate involving two monster-heads, the butt-plate stamped 'P/N. 11', sliding patch-box cover carved in relief with a scene of the chase and incised 'Au Poil Et A La Plume', cheek-piece, set trigger, iron sling mounts, white staghorn fore-end cap, faceted iron ramrod-pipes, and original horn-tipped iron ramrod, in fine condition throughout with much original finish

The patch-box contains a wooden knob which screws on to the end of the ramrod, and a note confirming the rifle's provenance
