Early 17th Century
With heavy multi-staged bronze barrel with pronounced ring at the muzzle, and a hook passing through the fore-end, plain bronze tang, flat lock struck with maker's mark 'CD', an orb and cross between, and a smaller mark, crossed hammers and the letter 'S' (Neue Støckel 5609), engraved cock and pan-cover, swivelling safety-catch, pierced wheel-cover, slotted pan-cover release button, faceted blackened full stock (wormed, some loss of colour) inlaid with engraved white staghorn plaques at the barrel tang and a long engraved brass plate at the front of the trigger-guard, engraved brass side-nail washers, large brass fore-end cap engraved with strapwork, fruit and foliage, and indented iron trigger-guard
