A Fine Cased Pair Of 38-Bore Percussion Box-Lock Pistols

With fixed case-hardened octagonal sighted barrels each signed in full on the top flat and with an engraved band of ornament at the muzzle, pierced platinum plugs, case-hardened actions finely engraved with scrollwork and each with small safety-catch, blued folding triggers, finely chequered figured walnut butts, silver escutcheons each engraved with owner's initial 'J', blued stirrup ramrods, and nearly all their original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including three-way powder-flask covered in red leather (base-plate detached), the lid with trade label for circa 1820-25, London proof marks
