An Unusual Pair Of 48-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pocket Pistols

With short turn-off barrels (minor bruising) each with a stepped moulding to the rear of the lug for the barrel key, one breech numbered '1', signed actions finely engraved with rococo designs on a hatched ground, raised pans, engraved thumbpiece safety-catches also locking the steels, folding triggers, and flat-sided figured walnut butts (one bruised) each with unusually elaborate engraved silver escutcheon, and, on each side, a shaped plaque finely engraved with rococo designs en suite with the action and framing a barrel key, London proof marks
