With turn-off cannon barrels numbered respectively from '1' to '8', border engraved actions signed within rococo ovals, engraved trigger-guard safety-catches, bevelled flat-sided figured walnut butts (minor bruising), flat silver butt-caps each cast and chased in low relief with flowers, foliage, and a martial trophy, and border engraved silver escutcheons (small areas of surface pitting, mainly on the first pistol), London proof marks

Lot Essay

Daniel Goff is recorded at 119 Leadenhall Street between 1785 and 1787. He was apprenticed to William Brander in 1768, free of the Gunmakers' Company in 1775, and died in 1840
