With three-stage barrels, tapering octagonal then polygonal breeches each engraved with a band of acanthus foliage at the rear, indistinctly engraved 'London' on the top flat, and signed beneath the steel-spring, foliate engraved shaped tangs, border engraved actions, engraved trigger-guard safety-catches, moulded figured walnut butts each carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang, cast and chased silver rococo escutcheons engraved with owner's crest, a cockerel's head erased, pierced foliate silver side-plates, and engraved spurred pommels of iron each with silver grotesque mask cap (iron parts with some wear and scattered light pitting), London proof marks
