With three-stage barrel (lightly pitted) engraved 'London' on the breech and with a moulded band at the rear, plain tang, rounded lock retained by two side-nails and with first form of signature, figured walnut full stock with a raised teardrop behind the barrel tang and a swelling near the ramrod-entry, brass trigger-guard engraved on the bow with the number '1', single baluster ramrod-pipe, and brass-capped wooden ramrod, London proof marks, barrel-forger's mark IB, a fleur-de-lys above
