A 90-Bore Caucasian Miquelet-Lock Pistol
Mid-19th Century
With slender barrel decorated with panels of gold-damascened mauresques framed by single and double lines of silver pellets, and linked by a slender gold-damascened central panel also bordered by silver pellets, long tang en suite extending to the pommel, two gilt iron barrel bands, gold-damascened lock of characteristic form, slender full stock formed of a single piece of dark horn (small crack at the rear of the lock), spherical walrus ivory pommel (stained) with pierced iron cap (pitted and incomplete), spherical iron trigger decorated en suite with the barrel, and no provision for a ramrod (some gold missing)
