A Fine Cased Pair Of 34-Bore Early Flintlock Duelling Pistols

With swamped rebrowned octagonal sighted barrels of pronounced stub twist, each with second form of signature on the top flat, engraved shaped tangs, signed bevelled locks (one replaced by Alexander Wilson) each with stepped tail, intercepting sear, and divided blued steel-spring with two links working independently, the steels each with detachable safety-cover released by a stud, figured walnut full stocks (minor scratches and bruising) each carved with a shell in relief behind the barrel tang, flat-sided butts, engraved blued iron trigger-guards with acorn finial, blued trigger-plates, triggers, and ramrod-pipes, original horn-tipped ramrods, one with worm, and some original finish: in original lined and fitted brass-bound mahogany case with accessories including leather-covered three-way flask painted in imitation of tortoiseshell, the lid (cracked) with trade label of Alexander Wilson, Sherrard Street, Golden Square, London, the exterior with brass handle of Chippendale form, London proof marks
