A James Neale Staffordshire creamware floral dessert service
1780-1790, impressed Neale&Co for the Church Works, Hanley.
The cream-ground body minutely painted in colours with floral bouquets, the shaped edges enhanced in purple with incised peigné motifs, the handles modelled as twisted ropes and ending in leaves in relief, comprising: a pair of single-handled squash tureens and covers, upon a leaf-shaped fixed stand, the cover en suite with a berry finial, 20cm. wide; four oval pedestal dishes, 17cm. wide; three two-handled oval pedestal dishes, 26cm. wide; four oval side dishes, 27.2cm. wide; thirty one plates, 22cm. diam.; four oval plates, 25cm. wide; four small oval plates, 16.5cm. wide (minor damages)
