A large Meissen-pattern white porcelain musical group
19th century, marked with inverted underglaze blue crossed swords beneath a dot, incised 1702
Modelled as a maiden in 18th century attire playing the guitar, standing high on a flower-encrusted rock, surrounded by a gallant couple and two children seated on rockwork and holding flower garlands, the circular base pierced and moulded with shells and stylised leaves and applied with flowers and birds (restoration to the neck and the guitar of the central maiden)
