A Meissen group of children playing "Engagement"
Circa 1760, marked with underglaze blue crossed swords
(Kinder spielen Verlobung) gilt and painted in colours and modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler as three children playing, depicting a central scantily clad girl seated on a fauteuil, wearing a pink-lined cape enhanced with Indianische Blumen, holding a mirror in her right hand and flanked by a powder box and a jewelry chest, another girl dressed as a kitchen maid, standing on a stool behind her and holding a flower garland above her head, flanked by a young boy dressed as a gentleman and holding a tricorn hat (minor restorations)
