A Meissen figure group allegorical of Painting and Sculpture
Circa 1755, marked to the side with very faint blue crossed swords
Gilt and painted in colours, modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler as two large putti, one standing and working on a bust with a hammer and a chisel, the other seated and holding a pallet and brushes, on rockwork rocaille base (restored and chips)
