A Meissen-pattern figure group of Neptune in a chariot
19th century, the chariot marked with underglaze blue crossed swords
Gilt and painted in colours, modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler, the bearded Neptune scantily clad and wearing a blue-lined lilac garment, seated on a rocaille chariot enhanced with insects and butterflies with two spoked wheels, flanked by a triton holding a horn, further with a hippocampus with its mouth wide open and curling fish tail (damages)
