A large Meissen-patterned tripod shell-shaped chinoiserie dish
19th century, pseudo-marked K.H.C. in manganese
Gilt and painted in colours in the manner of Johann Gregorius Höroldt, on the inside with an elaborate scene of Orientals at various pursuits standing on a gilt scrollwork vignette enclosing an ogival cartouche with a Purpurmalerei scene, the shaped border with gilt stylised foliage decoration ending in two large scrolls with two ogival cartouches en suite, the outside painted with gilt foliage and Indianische Blumen, raised on three fish-shaped feet
