Type: 1b:116G. Woodcut border on 2 sides (trimmed), woodcut initials, outline capitals, hand-coloured in red and green, capital strokes and underlining in red, contemporary MS. foliation in red in headlines, including corrections. (Very light dampstains, small wormholes in final leaf affecting two letters only, light spotting in a few upper margins.) Eighteenth-century alum-tawed pigskin over wooden boards, blindstamped with rolls and stamps, two fore-edge catches (without brass clasp), title and pressmark written in compartments, green edges. Provenance: Straubing, Carmelites, inscription on first leaf; marginal annotations in an 18th-century hand.

FIRST EDITION. Printing this book just over a year after setting up shop as Ulm's first printer, Zainer still expresses a sense of marvel in its colophon when he declares that it was produced not with a quill but with cast letters.
