Title with coloured woodcut of enthroned Madonna and Child (part of title excised and repaired, margins strengthened), approximately 43 full-page and 39 smaller woodcut illustrations of biblical scenes and saints, mainly by Hans Springinklee and Erhard Schön (Dodgson I, p. 382, nos. 4-13 and p. 429, nos. 2-27), all coloured by a contemporary hand, each page with elaborate architectural woodcut border, some coloured, woodcut decorative initials, woodcut printer's device on final leaf. (Final leaf torn with loss at lower margin and laid down onto back free endpaper, tear to lower margin of k5 affecting six lines of text, some light marginal soiling.) Contemporary mottled sheep over wooden boards, panelled in blind, covers with brass mounts and clasps (front cover damaged, clasps deficient).
