Contemporary calf over wooden boards, broad frame formed by three concentric rolls, the outer roll composed of figures of Justice, Occasio and Prudence (also Lucrecia on lower cover) dated 1526, middle roll composed of putti, dancing or playing the flute and drums, the inner roll composed of classical figures, surrounding a centre panel containing the portrait of Joachim von Anhalt (originally gilt) with names of the three authors on upper cover and his arms on lower cover, spine with four raised bands (minor abrasions, clasps lacking, spine worn). C.Haebler, Rollen und Plattenstempel (1928) I pp 265-6, Stamp III and B XII, Rolls A4, A7, A8. Linck was the binder to the court of Anhalt between c.1526 and 1548; his workshop was probably at Wittenberg.
