Modern half calf over marbled boards, red morocco lettering-piece on front cover, spine lettered in gilt (head of spine chipped). Provenance: R. Schwerdt (armorial bookplate); Waldemar Schwalbe (bookplate dated 1937).
A very rare set of Ridinger engravings, with a distinguished provenance. The last set of these plates has appeared at auction in Germany in 1981: no copies have been recorded at an English auction (this copy was not sold in the Schwerdt sales at Sotheby's in 1939 and 1946).
