Titles with engraved vignettes, 3 printed in red and black, 2 engraved frontispieces (only, of 4), hand-coloured engraved folding map of Carolina, Florida and the Bahamas, (with two tears neatly repaired), 321 hand-coloured engraved plates of birds, flowers and animals by Seligmann and Leitner after Mark Catesby and George Edwards, and engraved portrait of a Samoyed in vol. IV. (Lacking volumes VII-IX and engraved frontispieces to vols. III and IV, title to vol. V with two nealy repaired erasure holes, plates CX-CXIV of vol. IV shaved at lower margin, just trimming some captions, plates LXV and LXVI of vol. II with light stains to inner margin, a few plates with short, clean marginal tears, some neatly repaired, occasional light browning and soiling, mainly in vols. I-IV.) Near-uniform contemporary sheep, spines gilt in compartments (first two volumes with neat repairs to corners and one joint, lightly scuffed).
