Queen Anne expresses her desire to see the Cardinal (1585-1642), who, as first minister, largely directed domestic and foreign policy of France and exerted his powerful influence over both the Queen and King, who were largely estranged from one another. "My Cousin, Monsieur de Boussac, who is more devoted to you than to himself and whom I esteem greatly for his virtues and the good service that he renders me, being unable to delay the pleasure that he feels at your return, is going expressly to meet you. He will tell you with what pleasure and impatience I am waiting to see you..." Uncommon.
