(8¾ x 7¼ in.), integral address leaf in King's hand, docketed by Ellery, framed with an engraved portrait.Fine. A SIGNER OF THE CONSTITUTION TO A SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION: King, a noted New York Federalist, congratulates Ellery on his appointment to the post of Rhode Island loan officer: "I am told that a Packet goes tomorrow morning for Newport, by her I acknowledge the Honor of your letter of the 17th instant and with pleasure communicate what I wrote by post a few days since your election by Congress as Loan Officer of R[hode] Island. I thank you for your friendly congratulations on my matrimonial engagements..."
