LINCOLN, ABRAHAM, President. Engraved document signed ("A. Lincoln") as President, countersigned by Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton, Washington, D.C. 26 July 1862. 1 page, folio, accomplished in manuscript (slight fading), neatly matted and enclosed in a black wood frame,PRINTED ON PARCHMENT, elaborately engraved, bold heading at top "The President of the United States of America," beneath which an American Eagle and the "E Pluribus Unum" motto amidst billowing clouds, a large vignette of crossed flags, cannon and other military paraphernalia at the bottom, with small legend "engraved by J.V.N. and C.H. Throop, Washington City. President Lincoln and Secretary of War Stanton appoint Frederick Myers a Lieutenant Colonel and "additional aide-de-camp."
