Lot Essay

The view of the River Colwyn is taken from the west, looking towards Moel Hebog in the distance.

Beddgelert was considered a place of great beauty in the eighteenth century. Thomas Pennant wrote of it (1781, p.176) 'Its situation was the fittest in the world to inspire religious meditation, amidst lofty mountains, woods and mumuring streams'
