George Cecil Weld, 3rd Baron Forrester, (1807-1886) second son of Cecil Weld Forester, 1st Baron (died 1828) and Katherine Mary (died 1829), 2nd daughter of 4th Duke of Rutland, married Hon. Mary Anne (died 1893), widow of Colonel David Ochertlony Dyce Sombre and only surviving daughter of 2nd Viscount St. Vincent. He became General in the Army; M. P. for Wenloc 1828-1874 and Comptroller of the Household in 1852, 1858-1859. He died without issue and was succeeded by his brother, Orlando Watkin Weld, 4th Baron Forrester

The Memorandum of Miniatures is a record of Wood's preparation, execution and payment for his works and reveals technical details of the miniaturist at work. The entry for this miniature reads Mast Geo Forrester, son of Mr and Lady Catherine (Manners) F. On a piece of Senard's thin Ivory, as prepared; washed with distilled vinegar white card gumed behind complexion in rather brown with char reds, chiefly of 30, 65, 323, 202, 139, Ke A little 334 in the ground 365 white: some touches of 178 two touches of gum; or it is breathed on. Pupils of eyes, 349 Began 15 June 1802. Del.d. 29 8 Gs Rec.d by Duchess Dowager of Rutland Set by Stedman".
