Rectangular, with shaped baluster sides, the upper and lower lids printed and painted with two couples and a mandolin player in a landscape, a detail taken from La Cascade, after Hancock from an engraving by G. Scotin after Watteau and lovers on the bank of a river, a detail taken from Lovers and Dovecot, after Hancock from an engraving by A. Walker, each within gilt scroll border against a pink ground with gilt scrolls and raised white trelliswork decoration, the sides similarly decorated, waved gilt-metal mounts, unmarked - 3 1/8in. (8cm.) long
