Shaped oval, enclosing a glass-lined inkwell and pounce-pot with foliate gilt-metal covers, the body painted with four pastoral scenes in gilt scroll cartouches on a green ground with gilt scrolls, flowerheads and trelliswork, on a shaped oval ormolu base supported by four lion's paw feet, unmarked - 5¾in. (14.6cm.) long
