A GEORGE III DOUBLE-OPENING PATCH-BOX AND TWO ANIMAL BONBONNIERES
South Staffordshire, probably Bilston, circa 1775
The rectangular patch-box with shaped baluster sides, painted with panels of flowers in blue ropework borders with yellow angles, each cover painted with buildings by a river in rised white on blue border or maroon scroll border, unmarked - 2 1/8in. (5.2cm.) long; and two circular bonbonnieres formed as a spaniel and a cat curled on pink cushions, each with flowerspray cover (some damage), unmarked - 1¾in. (4.5cm.) and 1 5/8in. (4.1cm.) diam.
