A IMPORTANT GEORGE II SILVER SALVER
maker's mark of Paul de Lamerie, London, 1742
Shaped circular and on three cast lion's mask, paw and foliage feet, the raised border cast with shells, reeding, scrolls and foliage and with a similary chased band enclosing three crests, engraved with a coat-of-arms within a Rococo cartouche, marked on reverse - 10¾in. (27.5cm.) diam.

The arms are those of Bowles quartering Spurway impaling Clarke, for Charles Bowles of North Aston, Co. Oxford, only son of William Bowles of Windsor and Clewer, Berkshire, and wife Jane, whom he married in the early 1740's
