SECTION ONE: CHATEAU LYNCH-BAGES, VINTAGES 1934 - 1990
BLANC DE LYNCH-BAGES 1990 - 1992
AND HAUT-BAGES AVEROUS 1982 - 1990
Like so many of Bordeaux's most outstanding properties, Château Lynch-Bages is clearly visible from the famous D2 or "Route des Vins". The château takes its name from the "Plateau de Bages" upon which it sits and from the famous Irish Lynch family, who owned the property between 1740 and 1825. Jean-Baptiste Lynch was Mayor of Bordeaux from 1809 to 1825
The Cazes family through Jean-Michel's grandfather Jean-Charles assumed control of the château in 1934 (as tenant) and in 1937 (as owner)
Château Lynch-Bages represents quinteissential Pauillac, with consistently deep colour, concentrated blackcurrant and cedarwood nose and structured, but soft, tannins. The 85 hectare vineyard is planted with a classic mixture of 75 Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 Cabernet Franc and 15 Merlot. The vines have an average age of 35 years
