SECTION TWO: CHATEAU LES ORMES-DE-PEZ
The cru bourgeois property of Château Les Ormes-de-Pez, in the commune of Saint-Estèphe is the Cazes family's second important property. Owned by them for approximately the same period of time as Château Lynch-Bages it has developed an excellent reputation amongst the ranks of the cru bourgeois.
Following a typical Saint-Estèphe encépagement of 55 Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 Cabernet Franc and 35 Merlot, the wine is made under the supervision of the same technical team as that at Château Lynch-Bages. It is characterised by the austerity typical of the wines of Saint-Estèphe benefiting enormously from a degree of bottle-age
