Immensely deep, vividly purple at the April 1989 tasting at Langoa. Tight-knit fruit on nose. Full, crisp, impressive. In London the following April: opening up on the nose; sweet on plate with spicy, oaky beguiling flavour. Endorsed a month later; sweet, full-bodied, fleshy, full of fruit, well balanced. (M.B.
