Bellissima, a bay filly by Phenomenon, had won the Oaks in 1798, Warter was a very useful horse, but Diamond was actually the best of the three. He was the horse defeated in the great match at Newmarket by Sir Henry Vane-Tempest's Hambletonian which was the subject of many pictures (in particular the large Stubbs of the winner being rubbed down afterwards) and recorded by Sartorius in a popular print.
