Lot Essay

Courdouan, a leader of the school of Toulon, was a professor at the Paris School of Fine Arts and Curator of the Toulon Museum. He visited Algeria in 1854 and Egypt in 1866, exhibiting pictures of the Pyramids, the Nile and the desert until 1885.
