FIRST EDITION of Sclater's comprehensive monograph, originally published in seven parts. Sclater gives detailed descriptions of 62 species of Jacamar and Puff-Bird, as well as a general account of the two families and an extensive bibliography. 60 of the species are featured in Keulemans's "beautiful plates" (Anker).
