Hand-coloured engraved wall-map of the United States, in two sheets,
each 1340 x 850mm, dissected, mounted on cloth and folding, decorative border, the wall-map including a general inset map of the United States, 8 detailed inset maps of the regions around the major cities, elaborate title and cartouche of a bald-headed eagle, the map clearly marking and colouring the individual counties within each state. (Occasional light spotting and browning.) Contained in it's original half-morocco slipcase (corners rubbed, lacking ties).
An interesting map of the United States first published by Mitchell and Hinman in 1834. This issue of 1843 is not recorded in the Library of Congress; Phillips Maps records an issue of 1834 and 1845.
