Imperial 8° (275 x 190mm). 4pp. publisher's advertisments at end. Engraved map, 36 hand-coloured aquatint plates after J. and J.Lory. Publisher's green morocco-backed boards, spine gilt, gilt monogram on upper cover, uncut (neatly rebacked and cornered, old spine laid down), modern slipcase. Provenance: Harriet Capel (inscription dated 1822); Augustus Frederick, DUKE OF SUSSEX (crowned monogram on binding); Walter Blake (armorial book-labels).

A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION thus. The plates are reduced versions of plates originally issued in 1811, they first appeared in this reduced form in the periodical Ackermann's Repository between 1818 and 1820. Tooley 446.
