the case with four foliate and gadrooned finials to the bell top, handles and foliate-cast gilt-metal sound frets to the sides, the chamfered angles with satinwood line-inlay, elaborate foliate scroll feet, the dial with original cream-painted Roman and Arabic chapter disc signed Marriott Fleet Street with well sculpted gilt-metal arrow-head hands, calendar aperture above VI, floral spandrels, the upper spandrels with subsidiary dials for chime/silent and six tune selection, the arch with a later painted cut-out of Chronos automated to the escapement, the background painted with a country house scene with a lady and gentleman in the foreground, the massive six pillar triple fusee (chain lines) movement now with anchor escapement, the music playing on a nest of nine bells with hour strike on a further bell, foliate engraved backplate with similarly engraved securing brackets to the case
