the case on block feet, pierced wood sound frets to the front door and to the glazed sides, ball finials to the angles of the cushion-moulded top with foliate handle, the 16.8cm. sq. dial signed C: Gould Londini fecit on the silvered chapter ring with finely sculpted blued steel hands, the matted centre with central rosette, ringed winding hole and decorated calendar aperture, winged cherub spandrels interrupting the foliate engraved border, the six ringed pillar movement with single gut fusee, knife-edge verge escapement with Webster-style backcock, pull quarter repeat on two bells, the backplate similarly signed within a foliate engraved rosette amongst further profuse tulip and foliate engraving, secured to the case with dial turn-screws
