etching with drypoint and engraving, circa 1649, second state (of three), with the shading on the neck of the ass at the right, a fine impression before the Baillie re-work, watermark Strasburg Lily with countermark Name of Jesus, with small margins, two very short surface scratches to the left of Christ's head touched-in, two very short repaired tears at the edge, a few very fine uninked hairlines, a few modest pen and ink touches, other minor defects, otherwise generally in good condition
