A South-East asian silver and parcel gilt chalice
19th Century
possibly made for the Portugese market, the hexagonal flaring foot decorated with flowers and scrolling foliage and a faceted frieze with gilded palmettes below the bowl with similar decoration and a band of gilt coriander flowers to the rim, the interior in gilt -- 5¾in. (14.6cm.) high, (minor dent to central frieze).
