With nickel-finished lever movement, 26 jewels, the black matt dial with luminous baton and Arabic numerals, luminous Mercedes-style hands, sweep center seconds, the tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with screw back and screw down crown, together with a stainless steel Rolex buckle, accompanied by Rolex original fitted presentation box, Rolex Guarantee and performance card, booklets and outer packaging, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

The Explorer model was patented in Geneva in 1953 and was designed for use in extreme conditions.

The present lot includes the original performance card that indicates the watch was tested at Rolex on 9 September 1960, and the Guarantee that indicates the watch was sold in February of 1961.
