MÉO-CAMUZET
Until the late 1980's, this Domaine was the Sleeping Beauty of Vosne-Romanée. An owner in Richebourg and some of the greatest sectors of Clos Vougeot, with holdings in two extraordinary Vosne-Romanée First Growths-Cros Parantoux and Les Brûlées-the wines were nevertheless mainly sold in barrel to local négoçiants. With the arrival of Jean-Nicolas Méo as wine-marker ten years ago, the Domaine's orientation changed. Legendary Henri Jayer was retained as consultant wine-maker during the transition, and superbly complex wines started to be fashioned. (AH)
