the red ground woven with pairs of adorsed elongated boteh with scrolling palm-tips flanking bouquets of circular flowers, the residual field of black wool invaded at each corner by a straight-stemmed palmette flower, with embroidered calligraphic cartouche and inscription, trimmed with embroidered harlequin borders, Kashmir, 19th century, (small holes)--144cm x 320cm
