Incorporating Chateauvillard patent No. 12613 of 1849, the action comprizing a lift-up toplever, twin-sliding breech-plugs and a hinged release-lever, the lift-up toplever acting directly on the twin breech-plugs by means of a toggle-link, the triggerguard with an integral cocking-lever, bold foliate-scroll engraving, boldly-figured stock (repaired at the head) with butt-plate, the rebrowned fine damascus barrels with game-rib and ramrod

The opening and cocking of this rare, early breech-loading gun are entirely separate. The breech is opened by means of the vertically-operated toplever and the cocking is effected by the push-forward lever ahead of the triggerguard
