A GEORGE II SILVER SALVER
London, 1734, maker's mark apparently that of Dennis Langton (Grimwade Unregistered Marks, no. 3518, waiters - Untraced).
Shaped circular, on four knurled supports, center engraved with coat-of-arms, topped by shell and enclosed by partly reeded foliate scrolls, with molded border, and partly notched and shaped rim--11¼in. (28.5cm.) wide, 24oz.
