Most with maker's mark of Wood & Hughes, New York, circa 1863 (See Soeffing, pg. 84), the knives stamped with S. D. BROWER and also H H & B, Albany, circa 1864
Most initialed or monogrammed, comprising:
Twelve spoons with gilt bowl--7in. (17.78cm.) long, another plain--8¼in. (20.95cm.) long, twelve teaspoons, a master butter spreader, two shell-bowled salt spoons, two plain salt spoons, a salad fork, the knives with reverse engraved with a honey bee, knife front part-engine turned and engraved--7¾in. (19.68cm.) long, together with six initialed pastry forks--stamped Bigelow Bros. & Kennard, one with F. & H. for Ferrington & Hunnewell, Boston, circa 1864 (See Soeffing, pg. 42)--49 pieces, 55oz.
